The Breakdown

The Evidence

Lonestar vs. the Orange Bottles & Others

They built hand cleaners. We built a wash for the whole worker. Here's the honest side by side.

What's in the shop-sink stuff

Petroleum DistillatesRefinery solvent

Where it hides: Third on the label of GOJO Natural Orange Pumice, right after water and pumice.

Petroleum distillates cut grease, but they come from the same refinery as the stuff you're scrubbing off. Lonestar cuts grease with plant-derived cleansers like decyl glucoside, made from corn sugar and coconut.

Mineral OilPetroleum-based

Where it hides: Also on the GOJO Natural Orange Pumice label.

Mineral oil is refined from crude. Lonestar has none — moisture comes from glycerin and propanediol instead.

Rub-and-Wipe SolventsWaterless

Where it hides: Fast Orange's directions: rub into dry hands until grease dissolves, then wipe or rinse.

It dissolves grease with d-limonene, a solvent pulled from orange peels — fine at the bench, but it's not something you take into the shower. Lonestar lathers with water and rinses clean, head to toe.

Hands-Only FormulasStops at the wrist

Where it hides: GOJO and Fast Orange are both sold as hand cleaners.

Grease doesn't stop at your hands. Forearms, neck, face, hair — Lonestar is a full-body wash built to clean all of it, out of one bottle.
